As individuals, we are pressured by society to imitate an idealized style of beauty. This burden can be extremely damaging to people of all ages, and in order to feel accepted many individuals turn to dangerous forms of body modification. This piece is critiquing the fragility of these social constructs, as well as the harmful nature they force upon our culture.
